Words from Our Pastor - Week of November 30, 2025

Reset for the Season

Whether as a shopper or a business, recovering from Black Friday requires reflection, organization, and strategic planning to ensure the excitement of one day does not lead to stress or missed opportunities in the weeks that follow. After the frenzy of Black Friday, it is important to take a step back to reassess and recover. Financially, review your spending and update your budget to stay on track, paying down any high-interest debt and planning for upcoming holiday expenses. Mentally, distance yourself from the shopping hype, reflect on which purchases were necessary versus impulsive, and focus on gratitude and mindful spending for the rest of the season. For retailers, this 1s an ideal time to analyze sales data, identify top-selling products, and adjust inventory or marketing strategies for the remainder of the holiday season. Spiritually, remember that the birth of the Messiah is the reason for the season. We cannot afford to be distracted from worshipping the Lord wholeheartedly.

Thursday evening at 6:00, I will be teaching a financial literacy class on budgeting at the East Wing. Let's use this opportunity to devise a practical plan to manage spending and set ourselves up for a financially healthy holiday season.

Power House, we still have work to do - let's accelerate!

Yours in Christ,

Dr. Odell Riley, DMin

Senior Pastor

Proverbs 21:5

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
